A crash in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday (November 19) left Cleona Police Chief Jeffrey Farneski hospitalized. The incident occurred around 12:19 p.m. on the 500 block of West Penn Avenue. According to Pennsylvania State Police in Jonestown, a pickup truck driven by 74-year-old Robert Vanaken from Lebanon drifted towards the shoulder of the road and struck the back of Chief Farneski's patrol car. The impact sent the police vehicle 40 to 50 feet forward into a parked car. The pickup truck continued off the road, crashing into a nearby home.
Both Chief Farneski, 64, and Vanaken were injured and taken to a local hospital. Their conditions remain unknown. Authorities have stated that Vanaken will receive a citation for the incident.
