PA Attorney General Alerts Residents to Data Breach

The Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office is alerting residents about a data breach that occurred in August. Personal information, including social security numbers, may have been accessed during the incident. Although there is no evidence of misuse, the office is taking the matter seriously and has notified affected individuals via email as of Friday (November 14).

According to the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office, the breach was detected on August 9, 2025. Cybersecurity specialists were engaged to investigate, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation has been informed. The accessed information may include names, social security numbers, and possibly medical information for some individuals.

To protect those affected, the office is offering complimentary identity protection services. Residents are encouraged to monitor their credit reports and consider placing fraud alerts or security freezes on their credit files.
