Fetterman Returns Home After Hospital Stay for Head Injury

Senator John Fetterman is back home after a three-day hospital stay in Pittsburgh following a fall that resulted in a head injury. The Pennsylvania Democrat announced his return on social media Saturday (November 15), sharing a photo of himself with stitches on his forehead and nose. He wrote, "Twenty stitches later and a full recovery, I'm back home" with his family.

Fetterman, 56, experienced a fall on Thursday (November 13) near his home in Braddock, Pennsylvania, due to a "ventricular fibrillation flare-up," according to his spokesperson. Ventricular fibrillation is a serious heart rhythm disorder that can lead to cardiac arrest. Fetterman was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and atrial fibrillation in 2022 after suffering a stroke during his Senate campaign.

While in the hospital, doctors monitored Fetterman and adjusted his medication. He expressed gratitude for the medical care he received at UPMC and the support from his family and well-wishers. "Grateful for the incredible medical care that put me back together," Fetterman stated on social media, adding a lighthearted note about his appearance.

The incident has drawn renewed attention to Fetterman's health, which he has openly discussed since his stroke. He emphasized the importance of transparency about health issues among public figures. Fetterman plans to return to Washington, D.C., soon, as he continues his work in the Senate.
