Kentucky Truck Driver Charged in PA Turnpike Gun Incident

A road rage incident on the Pennsylvania Turnpike led to charges against a truck driver from Kentucky. On Tuesday night (October 14), 56-year-old Bobby Joe Peele allegedly pointed a gun at another driver near mile marker 261 Eastbound in South Londonderry Township, Lebanon County. According to the Pennsylvania State Police, Peele was driving a red Freightliner hauling a HAZMAT tanker trailer when the altercation occurred.

Court documents reveal that Peele allegedly moved from the right lane to the left, cutting off the other driver. He then reportedly straddled the center line before returning to the right lane. As the other driver attempted to pass, Peele allegedly made an obscene gesture and later waved a 9mm Glock 19 pistol at the driver. The victim hit their brakes and called the police.

Troopers found the gun inside Peele's truck after both vehicles were stopped. Peele faces misdemeanor charges of recklessly endangering another person and simple assault. He is currently held in Lebanon County Prison with bail set at $15,000, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 23.
