>>Suspect Charged In Steelton Officer-Involved Shooting

Authorities have charged Kenneth Cox, 32, following an officer-involved shooting in Steelton, Pennsylvania, early Sunday morning (July 6). Cox is accused of firing over a dozen shots outside the Soul Lounge Cafe, striking one person in the foot. According to CBS21, the incident occurred near North Front Street and Pine Street around 4 a.m. Cox faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault and illegal possession of a firearm due to a prior felony conviction.

The shooting unfolded after a dispute, during which the victim reportedly punched Cox. Moments later, gunshots rang out, and the victim realized they had been hit. An officer in the vicinity heard the gunfire and saw Cox firing the weapon. The officer then shot Cox, who was found with a gunshot wound to his back on North River Alley. Both Cox and the victim were transported to the hospital for their injuries.

Cox's bail was set at $50,000, and he awaits a preliminary hearing scheduled for July 22. Steelton Mayor Ciera Dent has ordered the closure of the Soul Lounge Cafe as the investigation continues. The Dauphin County Criminal Investigation Division is handling the case with the borough's full support.
