Man Charged with Attempted Homicide for Dragging Officer

A man from Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, has been charged with attempted homicide after allegedly dragging a police officer with a stolen vehicle. Ronald White, 49, was involved in the incident on May 29 in Susquehanna Township. During a traffic stop, White reportedly struck and dragged a Penbrook police officer while attempting to flee. The officer sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized.

White was apprehended following a police pursuit. At his preliminary hearing on June 12, additional charges were filed against him, including driving under the influence and driving while his operating privilege was suspended or revoked. He also faces charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and fleeing or attempting to elude police.

According to WGAL, the incident began when Susquehanna Township Police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Canby Street. White's actions during the traffic stop led to the serious injuries of the officer involved.

Local21 News reported that White's preliminary hearing resulted in the addition of several charges, highlighting the severity of the incident. The case continues to unfold as White faces the legal consequences of his actions.
