Steelton Mayor Responds To Idling Of Steel Mill
(Steelton, PA) -- The Mayor of Steelton warns the idling of a steel mill in the borough will have "immediate and significant" effects. Mayor Ciera Dent said more than 500 employees will lose their jobs following Cleveland-Cliffs' decision to idle their Steelton plant. Dent noted that idling the mill is not the same as a permanent closure, but said it was a "wake-up call." According to the steelworkers' union, the factory will reach idle status by June 30th.
