Finalists Announced For Toy Hall Of Fame

The Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York, has announced the 12 finalists for this year's induction into the Toy Hall of Fame. The list includes a diverse range of toys that have achieved iconic status, from the imaginative world of Transformers to the simple joy of balloons.

The finalists for 2024 are Apples to Apples, balloons, Choose Your Own Adventure gamebooks, Hess Toy Trucks, My Little Pony, Phase 10, Pokémon Trading Card Game, remote-controlled vehicles, Sequence, stick horse, trampoline, and Transformers. Each of these toys has made a significant impact on the world of play, offering a variety of experiences from strategic games to physical activities.

According to The Strong National Museum of Play, the public can vote for their favorite toys from September 18 to 25. The three toys that receive the most public votes will make up a “Player's Choice” ballot that will be tallied along with ballots from 22 historians and other experts. The final inductees will be announced in November.

Last year's inductees included baseball cards, Cabbage Patch Kids, Fisher-Price Corn Popper, and Nerf foam toys. Since 1998, the National Toy Hall of Fame has recognized over 80 toys for inspiring creative play across generations.
