The Hershey Bears have introduced new "Screaming Bear" jerseys to celebrate their 20-year affiliation with the Washington Capitals. These special jerseys pay homage to the Capitals' iconic "Screaming Eagle" design from the 2005-06 season when the partnership began. The cream-colored jerseys feature a snarling bear, designed to mimic the Capitals' former logo, and include diagonal stripes with "BEARS" written across the front. Each shoulder displays a logo commemorating the anniversary of the Bears-Capitals affiliation.
The Bears will don these jerseys during four home games this season: Sunday, November 16 against Lehigh Valley; Friday, December 12 against Providence; Saturday, January 3 against Rockford; and Sunday, March 15 against Belleville. After the March 15 game, the jerseys will be auctioned off.
Since the affiliation began, the Bears have won five Calder Cups, and the Capitals secured a Stanley Cup in 2018. The Capitals will visit Hershey's GIANT Center for a preseason game against the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday, September 25. The Bears' new jerseys are a testament to the enduring partnership between the two teams and their shared successes over the years.
