Doechii wants her fans to know that the issues she's been having onstage during her βLive From The Swampβ tour are not intentional, despite what trolls are saying online.Β
During her recent tour stop in New York, Doechii made a nice recovery when she tumbled down on a slide during her performance of βDenial Is A River.β The video went viral and had fans asking if it was all part of the show. In a video she posted to social media on Sunday, October 26, the Florida rapper explained that sheβs not doing it on purpose.
"I wanna talk about whatβs going on with the slide because some of you are speculating that Iβm doing it on purpose, which Iβm not," she says.Β
"This mechanical desk jerks when it moves, and in order for me to not fly off of itβwhich I did a couple times in rehearsalβwe had to put grip tape on the desk," she continues. "The grip tape is basically like sandpaper, so when Iβm standing on it or sitting on it, I donβt move and fall over."
"Whatβs happening is, my performance stockings are ripping because I'm sitting on sandpaper, and Iβm performing on sandpaper," she adds. "So by the time I get to the part in the song for the slide, my bare ass cheeks are sticking to the slide because Iβm sweating. They put the towel there, but as soon as I put the towel there, the wind from my big fat booty blows the towel away."
The videos of Doechiiβs recent malfunction on stage garnered so much attention that even 50 Cent felt compelled to weigh in.Β
"LOL OH S**T," Fif wrote in his caption. "I would got up and said [ninjas] jump me man. Hit me in the back of the head, and bush me down the slide. LOL."
Despite the chatter about her onstage mishaps, Doechii has delivered powerful performances since she launched her βLive From The Swampβ tour in Chicago earlier this month. The βAnxietyβ rapper will stop in 16 major cities before it wraps up in Los Angeles on November 15.
