Metro Boomin has been acquitted of sexual assault charges following a three-day trial.
On Thursday, September 25, a jury in Los Angeles found the Grammy Award-winning producer is not liable in his civil lawsuit after jurors reached a verdict within a few hours. The lawsuit was brought by Vanessa LeMaistre eight years after he allegedly raped her in a hotel room following a studio session. LeMaistre testified that she passed out in his studio after she took a shot of alcohol and popped half a tab of Xanax. She alleged that she woke to the producer raping her in a completely different location.
LeMaistre claimed that she got pregnant after the ordeal and got an abortion. She didn't tell anyone about the incident until after she participated in an ayahuasca ceremony in Peru last year. The 38-year-old explained that the experience helped her realize that the incident was the root cause of her pain and suffering. She also claimed to be a medium who communicated with the producer's late mother, who allegedly said she was disappointed in her son. She filed her lawsuit against Young Metro in September 2024.
Metro Boomin, born Leland Wayne, maintained his innocence from the beginning. He alleged the entire lawsuit was fabricated as an attempt to extort him for a massive paycheck. During his testimony, Metro told the court he and LeMaistre had sex twice before the alleged attack. He also referred to alleged journal entries in which LeMaistre detailed a plan to sue him for millions. LeMaistre requested over $3 million in damages.
The producer had support from his friend Young Thug during the trial. Thugger was in the courtroom during his testimony and met wit him during a break in the trial. He said the only legal experience he ever had was watching Thug's trial online.
