May Flower International Inc recalled its "8.82-ounce/250g packages of Beijing Soybean Paste food treats" on April 11 due to the undeclared presence of a common allergen.

According to the United States Food & Drug Administration, the recalled product, distributed to retail stores nationwide (including locations in Pennsylvania) was mislabeled and does not include an ingredient callout for wheat which poses the risk of a "serious or life-threatening allergic reaction" to individuals allergic to the ingredients not listed on the faulty labels.

Consumers should avoid consuming Beijing Soybean Paste food treats with UPC code 6917799000385 distributed between 03/25/2023 to 03/05/2024. Customers can find the aforementioned information on top of the Beijing Soybean Paste packages just above the product name.

There have been no allergic reactions reported as a result of consuming the mislabeled product (as of April 17). Officials are urging consumers who have already purchased the recalled product to return it for a full refund.

Concerned individuals who purchased the recalled Beijing Soybean Paste food treats can contact the company at "1-718-366-8668 Monday to Friday 9:00AM to 6:00PM Eastern Time (ET)."
