Mental health is wealth, word to Charlamagne Tha God.

July is Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) Mental Health Month. According to the Department of Defense, BIPOC Mental Health Month was created to "bring awareness to the unique mental health challenges of historically disenfranchised and oppressed racial and ethnic groups in the United States." When it was formally recognized in 2008, the month was known as "Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month" named after the author, journalist, and teacher who advocated for mental health initiatives in Black and other minority communities.

Elliott Connie

The Black Effect Podcast Network has several podcasts that focus on mental health all year round. One of them is Family Therapy with psychotherapist Elliott Connie, who documents a family’s journey as they work through trauma by revealing anxieties and exploring deeply rooted problems.

In celebration of BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month, Connie is hosting a live therapy session for the community. You can join the special event and seek help on July 17 at 7 p.m. To attend the event, all you have to do is RSVP by sending a DM to Black Effect on Instagram.
